Inisheer is a charming island to visit any time of year, but especially in summertime when the island is buzzing with visitors. Everywhere you look is a 'picture'. I spent two years living in Inisheer and try to go back there at least once a year.Time spent on Inisheer is always magical, and the locals are extremely helpful. There is always something to do. The 'walks' are numerous , swimming is always fresh, the water as clear as crystal and the islanders are always on watch. Approximately 60 Islanders, including the Inisheer Rocket Crew rescued the entire crew of the Plassey, a cargo boat , that floundered on the rocks, using a breeches buoy. The wreck of the Plassey can still be seen today on the island.
